Spoz Theatre

In 1998, Spoz took his wife and children to see ‘Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat', that well known Andrew Lloyd Webber pantomime. As they left, his wife said “You could do better than that”, so he did.

Two years later ‘Black Country Rock' hit the stage with Spoz writing the script and score and going on to produce, direct and even appear in his first venture into musical theatre. The show ran at The Crescent Theatre as part of the Birmingham International festival. The following year, Spoz ‘spruced up' the production and repeated the show in Birmingham and again at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. See below for the ‘rave' reviews.

Since the great success of ‘Black Country Rock', Spoz has completed his second theatre work - a ‘black musical comedy drama' called ‘Please, Mister Gravedigger'.

Both of these are available now for your school / college / musical drama group to produce. Spoz will be glad to assist artistically, in any capacity you wish. Just drop him an E:Mail.

Spoz is currently working on two further musical projects – ‘Billy Gilbert's guitar' and ‘The Checkout Girls'. Watch this space!

Thanks to some funding from the Arts Council (West Midlands), Spoz has started work on a spoken word concept for theatre under the title of ‘News of the Word'. When complete, this will feature some of his poetry, as well as poems from his eclectic pals in ‘The New October Poets'. Watch this space!
